What changed: the developer says J.O.O.N.A.S. now cleans twice as fast, works away from players, navigates around buildings, shows its current sector and launches capsules to the nearest Capsule Catcher.

Check the new behavior in this order

  1. Confirm version 1.0.4. Old reports about leaving player range apply to the pre-rework robot.
  2. Open the Moon map. Robots now appear with their current activity. Use the robot filter and sector status before traveling across the map.
  3. Identify the target catcher. J.O.O.N.A.S. officially launches to the nearest Capsule Catcher. As a diagnostic inference, catcher placement may explain why capsules appear on a different route than expected.
  4. Inspect the bin indicator. The gauge now flashes red when full, and looking at J.O.O.N.A.S. opens its information panel.
  5. Check reachability. The reworked navigation avoids buildings and skips hexes it cannot reach. As a diagnostic inference, an isolated dirty patch may be a path problem rather than an idle-state bug.
  6. Watch the catcher, not an old dock loop. The robot should send capsules while moving on to the next sector.
Success condition

The map shows an active sector, J.O.O.N.A.S. keeps cleaning without a nearby player, and capsules arrive at the nearest catcher.

Why older search results give the wrong fix

Several currently indexed guides still describe the 1.0.3 distance bug and tell players to remain nearby or return to wake the robot. That advice was reasonable for the launch build, but it is no longer the expected behavior on 1.0.4. If proximity appears necessary now, record the version and reproduce it as a current bug instead of treating it as normal operation.

Capsule Catcher changes matter too

Version 1.0.4 increases catcher capacity to 100 kg and shows collected dust through the glass. That gives you a visible receiving-side check instead of relying only on the robot’s movement.

Save warning: the official notes state that saves made in 1.0.4 cannot be opened in older game versions.
